21 working days
after notification of an automobile loss.
You should also:
- Report hit-and-run, theft and vandalism to police
- Protect the vehicle from additional damage
- Cooperate with the claim investigation
- Review your Duties After Loss requirements

Can You Choose Your Own Auto Repair Shop?
Yes.
Illinois consumers are not required to use the insurance company's suggested repair shop.
However, if your selected shop charges more than the insurer considers reasonable, you may potentially be responsible for part of the difference.
